We had some dear friends share with us that one of the wonders of the world is Cinque Terre. Or at least that is what my brain captured – it is vibrant, it is carved into the Mediterranean hillside, it is lush and rugged, it is a string of 5 villages connected by trails and train. It is memorable, enchanting, and romantic. We experienced all of this and more, staying at Riomaggiore (the closest village to La Spezia – the primary train station from the big cities). Nicola and Greta were unbelievable hosts – they were warm, kind, helpful, made arrangements to share their winery friends with us (Hi Julia!) and answer any questions we might have had from the mainland.
